Button mapping

The buttons are mapped similarly to the original RPG_RT but EasyRPG Player additionally provides more functions. The default mapping can be edited in the settings menu of the Player that was added in version 0.8.0, and is accessible by pressing F1 by default. The keys displayed here represent the default mapping of the keys on a computer.

Normal Keys

Game specific keys

These keys have game specific functions. Most games don't use them.

Special Keys

F, RT (Partially Hold - Controller) Speed up the game by a factor A (fast forward, factor can be adjusted in the settings)
G, RT (Fully Hold - Controller) Speed up the game by a factor B (fast forward, factor can be adjusted in the settings)
Left/Right CTRL, LT (Partially Hold - Controller) Hold to walk through walls and disable battle encounters (TestPlay mode only)
F1, Start (Controller) Open the settings menu
F2, RB (Controller) Toggle FPS (frames per second)
F3 Toggle Debug log
F4, Alt+Enter Toggle Fullscreen
F5 Toggle Zoom (1x, 2x and higher depending on your screen resolution)
F7 Take screenshot (Saved in the save game directory, or downloaded automatically on the webplayer)
F9, LT (Fully Hold - Controller) Open Debug menu (TestPlay mode only)
F10, LB (Controller) Abort active events (TestPlay mode only)
F11 Open Save menu (TestPlay mode only)
F12, Select (Controller) Hold to return to title screen

Functions in specific situations

Button (function) Function
Decision, Cancel Skip the current logo and go to the title screen/game browser/next logo depending on the situation.
Shift Display details about the current version of the Player as well as its release date (only on the EasyRPG Logo). The scene will not advance while the key is held, which can be useful if you need time to read what is displayed on the logo.

Settings Scene

Button (function) Function
Hold four different keys, even unmapped Reset the mapping of the selected key if held during 3 seconds; if no key is currently selected in the menu or if you hold them for three additional seconds, the mapping of all of the keys will also be reset.

Save/Load Scene (Webplayer only)

Button (function) Function
Shift Display a small menu allowing you to download the selected save, or to upload a savefile in the selected slot.
